Years ago when my three girls were very young I adopted the sweet German tradition of giving children a Schultüte on the first day of school. These “school cones” are paper maché cornucopias filled with school supplies, sweets and tiny gifts and I continued this tradition even through Holland’s college years! Our cones are smaller than the German ones but we love them because they were handmade by an artist in California just for Holland, Dulcie, and Brier!
